Israeli start-up XMPie announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Sakata Inx, one of Japan’s largest providers of graphics and printing technologies and products. XMPie develops and markets software solutions for direct personalized marketing. Japanese giant printing and photocopy equipment maker Fuji Xerox has already place the first order for the software. Sources inform “Globes” that the deal is worth $2 million, and will be delivered through 2003.

Triangle Technologies , which brokers strategic cooperation agreements between Israeli start-ups and Japanese companies and investors, helped broker the deal.

XMPie’s software makes it possible to design and produce direct personalized marketing plans, through the combination of databases, CRM software, graphic design software and various distribution channels.

XMPie was founded in 2000 with financing from Scitex (Nasdaq: SCIX) and raised $3.5 million from Jerusalem Venture Partners in early 2001.
