Phone-Or, Mitsubishi, and Kenwood Sign Three-Way Agreement

Triangle Technologies Mediates the Agreement

Triangle Technologies announced today that Phone-Or signed a three-way agreement with Mitsubishi Corporation and Kenwood. The three parties will work together to adapt and introduce Phone-Or's, optical sensors, into the Japanese market. Mitsubishi will develop sales and distribution channels to companies such as car and cellular phone manufacturers that will benefit from Phone Or's technology. Kenwood will be responsible for adapting Phone-Or's technology to Japanese products and market. This agreement may lead to several tens of millions of dollars in sales over time. Triangle Technologies assisted in the negotiation of the agreement

Phone-Or specializes in optical sensors which are based on the detection of changes in light. In the case of microphone applications the sensors translate sound into movements of light, thus detecting sound with exceptional fidelity. Phone-Or's BNS (Background Noise Suppression) microphone systems also have superb acoustical noise cancellation, unbeatable directionality and can be integrated into diverse applications ranging from Hands-Free Car Kits (HKF) to speech recognition applications, cellular telephones to various Telematics applications. Phone-Or's fiber-optic microphones ensure optimal performance in studio/stage microphones and security/military applications, as well as medical equipment.

Phone-Or's CEO, Oded Turbahn commented, "We see Japan as a strategic market since Japan is a world centre for component design and implementation. Our new partners in Japan are major players in the relevant markets and will enable us to reach new markets and customers."

In April 1995, Phone-Or began applying its fiber-optic technology to various acoustical applications, such as microphones and background noise suppression systems. The company's patented, field-tested technology is based on a novel approach for measuring the intensity of light that is scattered by a microphone membrane.

Today, Phone-Or works with a number of international strategic partners to develop technologies that meet the specific needs of their primary markets, including microphone and sensor applications in the telephony, automotive, electronics, defense, security, and audio industries.
